Harold Lezotte

Harold Lezotte, 88, passed away on June 24, 2021 at his home in Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Harold S. and Ruth Lezotte.

Harold graduated from Salem Oak Harbor High School where he was president of his senior class, record-setting hurdler and quarterback of the undefeated football team.

Harold graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering. He served six months active duty in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a captain in the reserves.

Harold was employed as an agricultural engineer at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Master of Science in agricultural engineering.

Harold retired from Public Service Indiana, which later became Duke Energy. During his employment with the utility, he served as marketing director, Greencastle area manager and corporate planning manager. Harold served as president of the Greencastle Rotary Club and was a Putnam County Dog Obedience Club leader.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Cundiff Lezotte; daughters Anne (Richard) Conrad and Susan Lezotte; sons Bob (Patty) Lezotte and Bill Lezotte; grandchildren Rick (Chelsea) Conrad and Becky (Trey) Hall; stepchildren Deron Cundiff and Jenna (Mike) Price; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Roger) Immel and Nancy (Lance) Gordon; and ex-wife Kathleen Lezotte.

His sister Sally (Dean) Covert preceded him in death.

Harold enjoyed sailing, running (completing several half-marathons and marathons), golf and shooting. He loved reading and would often recite poems that his family enjoyed hearing. Harold was never without a good story of past experiences and was a joy to be around. We will miss his infectious smile and his love of life.

There will be a celebration of his life to be held in Indiana. He will be missed by many.
