Calming Influence

Mary Allison Children’s Trust board members Joe Ferguson and Lucy Wieland present a check to Greencastle Middle School Principal Scott Weltz (center) for $1,146.04 to purchase items for the school’s calming sensory room recently.

The items in this room are meant to address students’ sensory needs in order to calm them down when they are feeling upset, meaning that they can then quickly return to class and learning. The donation was made as part of Mary Allison’s second-semester project applications for the 2020-21 school year. The first-semester 2021-22 applications may be obtained by contacting any board member, calling 765-655-2333 or emailing gscott@wabashcapital.com. The deadline is Sept. 17.
