ROCKVILLE — Parke County’s annual Tox-Away Day is Saturday, Sept. 18 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. rain or shine at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Rockville.

To avoid interfering with event set-up, residents are asked not to arrive before 7:45 a.m.

While it is being held in Rockville, the event is open to Putnam County residents.

Tox-Away Days are sponsored by West Central Solid Waste District to provide Parke and Putnam County residents with the opportunity to recycle or safely dispose of household hazardous waste such as appliances, tires, electronics, chemicals and unwanted medication for free or reduced rates.

Attendees are asked to help maintain social distancing by staying in their vehicles and allowing trained personnel to safely and properly handle the materials.

For a list of accepted and unaccepted items visit the District’s Facebook page or www.westcentralswd.com.

Residents can call the District office with specific questions at 800-211-2750. Businesses are prohibited.
