Allen Ray Buchanan

Allen Ray Buchanan, 71, Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021.

Allen was born in Evansville to James and (Margaret Hill) Buchanan.

Allen worked at Strausburger Trucking and recently retired from Walmart Transportation after 22 years of service. After retiring he worked part-time for CoAlliance at Stilesville.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Julie (Cook) Buchanan; daughters Amy Clark (Jason), Melanie (Chan) Mangrum and Brooklynn Buchanan; grandchildren Mackenzie Miranda, Madison Fenneman, Ashlyn Jones, Brant Mangrum, Jake Mangrum, Landon Clark, Brinlee Clark, Boston Clark and Aiden Mangrum. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Brayson, Bryton, Braxton and Sawyer. He is also survived by a sister, Venita Ray and his mother-in-law, Norma Cook.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Limedale. The children there flocked to him. Maybe because he always had candy in his pockets.

Visitation will be at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 4-8 p.m. and service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30.
