Arthur ‘Chic’ R. McKee

Arthur “Chic” R. McKee, 77, of Cloverdale, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022.

He was born Sept. 23, 1944 in Burnside, Ky., to the late Arthur and Hazel (Sexton) McKee.

He married Karon (Merriman) McKee on Aug. 21, 1964, and she survives.

Chic was a dedicated truck driver for most of his life and retired from Roadway Express after 25 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Lee McKee; his mother, Hazel Virginia (Sexton) McKee; two brothers, Ira McKee and Gordon Wayne McKee; and two sisters, Sandy McKee and Donna McKee.

He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Karon McKee, and four children Robin (Charlie) Slicer of Quincy, Angela (Bruce) McQuern of Lebanon, Kevin (Lisa) McKee of Burnside, Ky., and Shannon (Joseph) Fitzpatrick of Greencastle, as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother, Danny (Sandy) McKee of Reelsville.

Chic enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and especially loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral services for Chic will be held Friday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the funeral home.
