Celebrate 4 events planned July 4 at Robe-Ann Park

Presented by Friends of the Park, Greencastle Parks and Recreation and a number of local sponsors, the Celebrate 4 annual Fourth of July celebration is set for Monday, July 4 at Robe-Ann Park.

Celebrate 4 is made possible by the generosity of sponsors.

Red level sponsors ($1,000 donation or more) include the City of Greencastle, DePauw University, Putnam County Hospital and Walmart Distribution.

White level sponsors ($500) include Metronet, York Automotive, Republic Services, Ivy Tech, Laborers International Union of North America Local 204, Hometown Dental, First National Bank, McDonald’s, Ascena and the Banner Graphic.

Blue level sponsors ($250) are Brackney Insurance, Dr. John Hennette, Moose Lodge 1562, Dr. Dale Oliver, Prime Real Estate, Brad Tucker State Farm, Abstract & Title, Aames Title, Rotary, ASA Land Surveying, Cash Concrete and Duke Energy.

Friends of the Park is planning a fun-filled day for families:

8 a.m.: Mike Rokicki Memorial 5K (registration begins 7 a.m.) and Civic League pancake breakfast

9:15 a.m.: Annual Youth Firecracker Fun Run

10 a.m.: Work out session in the park

Noon: Free swimming at the pool and an assortment of food vendors

5 p.m.: Big Bounce and children’s activities for family fun

5 p.m. Registration for Corn Hole Tournament that starts at 6 p.m.

5:15 p.m. Reading of the Declaration of Independence

5:30-9 p.m.: Live Music by the Green Cool Cucumbers and Danny Martin and Friends Band

Dusk: Fireworks display
