Tad Robinson

Always a favorite any time it plays locally, the Tad Robinson Band will be featured at the Tuesday, July 19 edition of Greencastle Parkfest.

The free concert, presented by the Greencastle Civic League, will run from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Robe-Ann Park bandshell.

The lineup for Tuesday will feature Tad Robinson on vocals and harmonica, Paul Holdman on guitar and vocals, Kevin Anker on keyboards and Brian Yarde on drums.

Considered one of the leading voices of modern soul-blues music, Robinson grew up in New York City, had his musical upbringing in Chicago and ultimately settled in Greencastle. He has been nominated for a Blues Music Award (the Grammys of blues music) 10 times. He tours widely in the U.S. and has played in more than 20 countries worldwide with performances at some of the most important international blues festivals.

Performances such as Robinson’s would not be possible without the support of the Civic League’s sponsors in presenting Parkfest. The largest sponsors for this year’s festival include Walmart, Greencastle Hometown Dental, Distinct Design and Putnam County Hospital.

The Greencastle Walmart store has served Putnam County customers for more than 30 years, while Walmart’s distribution and transportation centers in the city have provided additional jobs to local residents. Led by Dr. Dennis Knuth and Dr. Tess Funke, the team at Greencastle Hometown Dental is dedicated to bringing patients the best that dentistry has to offer. Based in Greencastle, Distinct Design’s mission is to “build affordable and high-quality websites with unlimited support.” Meanwhile, Putnam County Hospital, the only hospital based in the community, makes its mission to “provide exceptional health care close to home.”

The final Parkfest of the 2022 season is set for Tuesday, July 26, featuring Chris Wurster and Screamin’ Cicadas.
