Earl ‘Wayne’ Wilson

Earl “Wayne” Wilson, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at The Waters of Greencastle.

Wayne was born in Greencastle on April 9, 1934, the son of Alva E. and Gladys Mae (Conwell) Wilson.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mr. Wilson was a member of Greencastle Masonic Lodge No. 47.

He worked for more than 30 years in maintenance for P. R. Mallory.

Survivors include his son, Earl Wilson (wife Linda); a sister, Joanne Wood; two grandchildren, Ed Wilson (wife Lisa) and Jessica Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Wilson and Shelbi Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Wilson; six sisters, Edna Sutherlen, Irene Rogers, Thelma Harmon, Mabel Poynter, Eyleon Petrey and Hazel Siddons; and two brothers, Everett and Paul Wilson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service on Thursday.
