County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 3:36 a.m. Kenneth R. Murray, 46, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

Sunday

• At 1:37 a.m. Hayden M. Davis, 19, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a warrant.

Saturday

• At 8:08 p.m. Clifton L. Lalen, 64, Reelsville, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 11:14 a.m. Telisha J. Vanatta, 39, Indianapolis, was booked in on a warrant.

Friday

• At 4:31 p.m. Lucas K. Tolle, 40, Hutsonville, Ill., was taken into custody on a warrant.

• At 3:15 p.m. Jessica D. Keyt, 42, Brazil, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 8:11 p.m. Friday, Joshua J. Wright, 32, Dillsburg, Pa., was arrested by Sgt. Nick Eastham.

Taken into custody on South Indiana Street, Wright was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for battery resulting in injury.

• At 11:19 p.m. Thursday, Andres Contreras, 45, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Taken into custody at a West Franklin Street apartment, Contreras was lodged in the jail on a Vigo County warrant carrying the original charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.

• At 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, Amber Bennett, 36, Terre Haute, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown.

Arrested at the Walmart Supercenter for criminal trespass, Bennett was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent summons was issued by city officers:

• At 10:12 p.m. Sunday, Echandy Railus, 24, Hayward, Calif., was given a summons by Officer Chris Helmer.

Railus was cited at the College Inn on Bloomington Street for possession of marijuana.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven incidents since Thursday evening:

• At 6:17 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Lillienthal House at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:20 and determined the alarm was due to a humidifier. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 6:22 p.m.

• At 8:22 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 1120 Roan Ct. for an odor investigation. Firefighters arrived at 8:28 and determined the smell was due to cooking. GFD went back into service at 8:35 p.m.

• At 3:09 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:12 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:24 p.m.

• At 10:09 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:14 and determined the alarm was due to individuals boiling nebulizers. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 10:24 p.m.

• At 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Greencastle Middle School for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:17 and determined the alarm was due to dust from construction. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:32 p.m.

• At 9:30 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to the DePauw-owned duplex at 105 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:35 and determined that the alarm system malfunctioned. The system was able to be reset. GFD went back into service at 9:38 a.m.

• At 1:29 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to American Rental for an odor investigation. Firefighters arrived at 1:37 and determined that the smell was from an oven put on a self-clean cycle. GFD went back into service at 1:50 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to 13 medical assists and had one disregard in and around this timeframe.
