County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 1:52 a.m. Donna L. Dwigans, 53, Cloverdale, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine.

Wednesday

• At 7:25 p.m. Jesse A. Hilbert, 20, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

• At 6:02 p.m. Sara L. Jolliff, 41, Cloverdale, was taken into custody for domestic battery.

• 12:01 p.m. Daniel I. Spicer, 42, Brazil, was housed at the jail for theft of a firearm.

• At 9:31 a.m. Joshua W. Roehling, 39, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 12:34 a.m. Andrea L. Vickrey, 31, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 3:03 p.m. Tina L. Fiscus, 53, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

• At 2:42 p.m. Robert L. Peters, 50, Linton, was booked in on a warrant.

Monday

• At 2:45 p.m. Heath A. Cloncs, 35, Roachdale, was taken into custody on a warrant.

Saturday

• At 11:37 a.m. Amanda S. Cummins, 41, Bluffton, was housed at the jail for trafficking with an inmate and possession of a narcotic drug.

• At 12:18 a.m. Julia A. Kasprick, 35, Las Vegas, was booked in on a warrant.

Friday

• At 8:53 p.m. Stacy M. Farmer, 43, Brazil, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 10:59 p.m. Tuesday, Anthony R. Pearson, 54, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Taken into custody at a Jackson Street laundromat, Pearson was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a Clay County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and violation of driving conditions imposed by the court.

• At 9:45 p.m. Monday, Mark C. Riley Jr., 35, Chicago, was arrested by Officer Chris Helmer.

Taken into custody at Jackson and Daggy streets, Riley was lodged at the jail for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 10:35 p.m. Dec. 29, Alexis Coley, 26, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Taken into custody at an East Washington Street residence, Coley was lodged in the jail on two Putnam County warrants for theft.

Two summonses were issued recently by city officers:

• At 3:34 a.m. Wednesday, Andre Davis, 34, Indianapolis, was cited by Officer Helmer.

Stopped at Bloomington and Martinsville streets, Davis was given a summons into court for possession of marijuana.

• At 9:22 p.m. Dec. 27, Dustin McCracken, 28, Cloverdale, was cited by Officer Helmer.

Stopped on Tennessee Street, McCracken was given a summons for possession of marijuana.

Two recent citations were issued by city officers:

• At 6:41 p.m. Dec. 31, Carmen Kemp, 30, Greencastle, was ticketed by Sgt. Zach Rhine.

Stopped at Jackson and Earp streets, Kemp was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

• At 10:45 p.m. Dec. 29, Mallory Musgrove, ,23, Greencastle, was ticketed by Capt. Charles Inman.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Musgrove was cited for an expired plate (August 2022).

Sheriff’s Office

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated several recent property-damage crashes.

• At 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Joshua A. Keers, 31, Coatesville, was southbound on County Road 675 East approaching a 90-degree turn in a 2015 Honda Pilot.

Keers told Reserve Deputy Commander Ken Rozelle he was very familiar with the road, but could not see due to fog at the time. He failed to negotiate the curve and made heavy impact with a tree.

Keers said he was not injured and refused medical treatment.

The SUV was towed. Rozelle estimated damage at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jayne L. Jensen-Riley, 61, Brazil, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2019 Subaru Outback when she hit a deer.

Deputy Joshua Clark estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, Raymond Hedrick, 27, Crawfordsville, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe when he hit a deer.

Reserve Deputy Austin Fields, who was assisted by Rozelle, estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000. The vehicle was towed.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three incidents since Monday afternoon:

• At 2:01 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:04 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 2:07 p.m.

• At 11:16 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 625 E. Washington St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:21 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:29 p.m.

• At 10:38 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD received a direct call for a possible breaker box malfunction. Firefighters arrived at 10:42 and found no issues with the equipment. GFD went back into service at 10:48 a.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to eight medical assists and had two disregards during this timeframe.
