Putnam County small businesses invited to attend free workshop Monday

Thursday, January 26, 2023

The West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (WCISBDC), in partnership with West Central 2025 and the Small Business Administration, is hosting a workshop in Greencastle on Jan. 30 for all small businesses within Putnam County.

The WCISBDC will be sharing the various no-cost services and resources the agency offers to developing and established small businesses. All Putnam County businesses are encouraged to attend to learn more.

“The purpose of this dialogue is to ensure that businesses are taking advantage of the opportunities available for them,” said Dave Bittner, rural business adviser at the WCISBDC. “We find that many times, small businesses aren’t aware of the no-cost services available. Whether it’s understanding financing options, writing a business plan, hiring, marketing or more, our team of regional advisers help organizations find solutions to continue generating success.”

The workshop will be led by Bittner, who will give an overview of the services offered and how businesses can take advantage of them. Bittner also plans to share success stories of different businesses in the region that have found value in these resources. Businesses in attendance will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share what opportunities they see within their own existing or future businesses.

“Having no-cost resources available for our businesses is essential,” Madison Hanna, executive director of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, said. “I encourage all business owners located within the county to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about resources that might be available to their business model.”

The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at The Tenzer Hub for Entrepreneurship located at 19.5 South Indiana Steet, Greencastle. Businesses unable to attend but interested in learning more are encouraged to contact Jacy Norton at jnorton@rjlsolutions.com.

The WCISBDC will be hosting various workshops in every county across West Central Indiana over the coming months.
