Water Rescue

Monday, March 6, 2023
A vehicle is nearly submerged after a motorist and their passenger attempted to cross a driveway through the Sallust Branch near Stilesville Friday afternoon. With assistance from the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Boller entered the water and removed them through the broken window. They were on dry land within six minutes of the responders’ arrival. Personnel from the Cloverdale Township, Coatesville and Stilesville volunteers and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, as well as a Hendricks County water rescue team, were en route but disregarded. Both occupants were transported by Putnam County EMS.
