Art Walk set April 28-30 at DePauw

Sunday, April 9, 2023

Art Walk, an interdisciplinary festival to celebrate the creativity in the community, is slated for April 28-30 at DePauw University.

The event began two years ago as a reaction to the lack of artistic opportunities for students due to Covid restrictions. A group of music students came together and organized the effort, and more than 30 pieces of artwork and 10 live performances. It was expanded last year to include more performances.

Organizers are looking to make this year’s event bigger and more interactive and engaged with the community as a whole.

“We know that our community members are incredibly creative, and would love to showcase that creativity alongside that of DePauw students and faculty,” DePauw music professor Will Pearson said.

There are no limitations on the kinds of media that can be presented. These can include poetry, video, photographs, music, sculpture and many more.

Anyone can indicate their interest in participating by filling out a form at www.dpuartwalk.com. The Ark Walk team will then facilitate one’s presentation of work.
