Martha Lois Boruff

Martha Lois Boruff went to her heavenly home on the evening of April 10, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

She was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Indianapolis to Paul E. and Iris A. Myers.

She married John David Boruff on June 12, 1953, in Indianapolis.

Martha graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis in 1949. She received a Bachelor of Science in education at Indiana University in 1953.

Martha was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon and elder. She was a committee member of Ohio Valley Presbytery and was a Sugar Creek senior master swimmer.

She served as an EMT and as a scout leader for Wabash Valley Boy Scouts and West Central Indiana Girl Scouts, and was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Town and Country Home-EC Club in Roachdale, the Society of Decorative Painters and Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Indiana University. Martha retired from North Putnam Schools as a bus driver and substitute teacher, and was a swimming instructor at Crawfordsville High School for the elementary schools.

She is survived by her husband; children Yvonne (Joe) Wyatt, Audrey (Chuck) Powell, David (Pam) Boruff and Kenneth (Kristin) Boruff; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Patricia Gathers.

Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at Roachdale Presbyterian Church,14 N. Indiana St., Roachdale, with Pastor David Bower officiating. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
