Look Around, Look Within

Recognizing Mental Health Month and its 2023 theme of “Look Around, Look Within,” Greencastle Mayor Bill Dory signs a proclamation recognizing the month in the city as well as promoting mental health awareness. Joining Dory are (seated, from left) Mental Health America of Putnam County Co-Presidents Harriet Moore and Christina Kerns and (back) Secretary Erin Flick, Executive Director Karen Martoglio and board member Lauren Necesario Smith. Acknowledging the impact that one’s surroundings have a significant impact with a person’s mental health needs, the proclamation notes that early and effective interventions go a long way in helping individuals with mental health conditions recover to lead full, productive lives. It goes on to note that each business, school, government agency, health care provider, organization and citizen shares the burden of mental health problems and has a responsibility to promote mental wellness and support prevention efforts.
