The Panthers and Tiger Cubs each had eight hits Monday but the hosts were able to chain theirs together better to scratch out runs in the first two innings, adding two more in the fifth and sixth for the win.

Greencastle was able to cut into a 4-0 lead in the sixth when Jaylon Bushong scored on an error but Riverton Parke answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Bushong singled home a second run but that would be all for the Tiger Cubs in the game.

Lebanon 11, Greencastle 10 (8)

The Tiger Cubs were stung by a five-run seventh inning that saw a 9-4 disappear, forcing an extra inning where the Tigers were able to rally again for the win Monday night.

Elise Lausee drove in the first run of the game for Greencastle in the top of the first, though Lebanon tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning.

The visitors took the lead back in the second after Sydney Lantzy hit a two-run home run for a 3-1 lead.

Lebanon pulled a run back in the third but Greencastle responded with a two more in the fourth as Emma Hunter and Kenzie Epley hit back-to-back doubles, plating a run each for a 5-2 advantage.

Singles from Lantzy and Gloria Brewer made it 7-2 in the sixth but an error in the bottom of the inning allowed two runs to score to make it 7-4.

The Tiger Cubs padded the lead in the seventh on an Allie Beaman groundout and an error before the Tigers used five hits and a passed ball to plate five runs with no outs, only for Ali Hassler to get the visitors to the eighth.

Brewer leveled a home run to center field for a 10-9 lead but back-to-back doubles saw Lebanon walk off with the win.

Greencastle 169, Crawfordsville (tie)

Greencastle 160, Owen Valley 188

The Tiger Cubs found themselves tied for a second time this season at Crawfordsville Municipal GC Monday but no fifth scorecards were available.

Bryson Worman shot 38 to lead Greencastle with Jackson Rodgers and Zane Huber both shooting 41. Sam White rounded out the scoring with a 49.

Two days later, the Tiger Cubs shot a new low round for the season in defeating the Patriots at Rolling Meadows GC.

Rodgers shot 38 for medalist honors with Worman and Huber hot on his heels with rounds of 39 and 40. White finished the scoring with a 43 while Clark Shafer shot 45 and Cooper Grable came in on 46.

“We played very consistent from top to bottom with all the scores below 46,” Greencastle head coach Steve Paquin said. “Our driving, iron play and chipping were the best so far this season, though our putting still needs to improve to get our scores lower.

“Only Zane had played the course before, so this was a very good team win.”
