North Putnam’s Sydney Moore awarded Duke scholarship
ROACHDALE — North Putnam senior Sydney Moore was recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship by Duke Energy to support her post-high school education.
Moore is one of six Indiana high school students to be selected as part of Duke’s Scholars Program for 2023. Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors who are children of qualified Duke employees and retirees.
Recipients are selected based on their academic record, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and awards, adult appraisal, work experience and other factors.
Moore is an active member of 4-H and North Putnam’s FFA chapter, having held leadership roles in both. She also competes in top-tier horse shows and competitions. She will attend Murray State University in Murray, Ky., to study education. Her parents are David and Angie Moore.
