Her Hands

In the memory care unit at Asbury Towers, the staff recently took a series of “Her Hands” pictures of ladies’ hands that were then put in picture frames and presented to their families.

What a beautiful tribute to those ladies and a precious gift for the families. As they think back on all the things those hands have done for them over the years, they must surely be wiping a tear with their own hands!

I started this tradition many years ago. My oldest sister had cancer and the other four of us went to visit for the day and before we left, I got a picture of the hands of we five sisters. When she passed, I took the pic of the four remaining sisters and then another one passed, and the picture had three hands in it and now the picture has just two hands. It's a treasure for the family. Glad to see these precious hands at Asbury Towers. Beautiful memories!!
