County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently

Wednesday

• At 5:26 a.m. Jacinda A. Batchelor, 36, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 11:28 p.m. Patience L. Jones, 26, Cloverdale, was booked in for theft and battery.

• At 3:26 a.m. Montel M. Yarbrough, 26, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 2:17 a.m. Christopher T. Smith, 31, Greencastle, was taken into custody for criminal trespass and resisting law enforcement.

• At 12:01 a.m. Mark E. Dunahoo, 59, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Monday

• At 3:21 p.m. Mary E. Hatfield, 45, Poland, was booked in on a local warrant for theft.

• At 2:25 p.m. Michael L. Miller, 43, Poland, was lodged at the jail for theft.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has been dispatched to five recent incidents.

• At 11:26 a.m. on Monday, GFD was called to a report of an unconscious person in the drive-through at McDonald’s, 940 Indianapolis Rd. Working with the Greencastle Police Department, firefighters were unable to locate the vehicle and returned to service at 11:36 a.m.

• At 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at Percy Julian Drive and Avenue F. Arriving at the same time as Putnam County EMS, firefighters took care of clearing debris from the road. They returned to service at 8:56 p.m.

• At 5:11 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to a structure fire at Buzzi Unicem, 3301 S. CR 150 West. Firefighters arrived to find a small fire in an outside storage building with offices inside. The crew entered the building and quickly extinguished the fire. They ventilated the building and conducted overhaul, ultimately deciding the fire originated from a window air conditioning unit. The damage was contained to one area, and no injuries were reported. GFD responded with two engines and the aerial truck. They were assisted at the scene by Cloverdale Township and Putnam County EMS, with Madison Township covering the GFD station. Crews cleared the scene at 6:15 a.m.

• At 6:33 p.m. on Wednesday, firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm at 620 Ridge Ave. Arriving at 3:36 p.m., they found no visible fire. When the homeowner arrived, they checked the interior and were unable to determine what activated the alarm. They left the scene at 6:47 p.m.

• At 9:06 p.m. on Wednesday, crews were dispatched to an alarm at Mill Pond Health Campus, 1014 Millpond Lane. They arrived to find the alarm was set off by burned food. They returned to service at 9:27 p.m.

Firefighters also responded to five medical dispatches.
