Community Foundation sponsors July First Friday

Not to be lost in the aftermath of Tuesday’s Independence Day celebrations is a more frequent community gathering — First Friday in downtown Greencastle.

The local tradition during warm months will continue on Friday, July 7 with the Putnam County Community Foundation as the main sponsor.

PCCF will sponsor an inflatable slide, a kids scavenger hunt and a free raffle.

The Foundation will also use the 6 p.m. event to unveil the survey portion of its 2023 community needs assessment. Residents will have the chance to share their thoughts on Putnam County’s assets and needs in a short online survey to help PCCF generate collaborative, lasting solutions to make Putnam County a better place to live, work and play.

Aside from these, the July event will also feature the usual assortment of vendors, games, food, drinks and music.

The north courthouse stage will feature Big Daddy Caddy, while the Moore’s stage on South Indiana Street will have Hometown Haven.

Presented by Main Street Greencastle, First Friday happens each month from May through October in downtown Greencastle on the courthouse square and surrounding streets.
