County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 11:54 a.m. Noah G. Eller, 38, Poland, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 12:14 a.m. Eugene R. Burger, 70, Bainbridge, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.

Saturday

• At 11:51 p.m. Heather L. Crosby, 49, Fillmore, was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 2:23 a.m. Terrie J. Crabtree, 57, Cloverdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

Friday

• At 8:51 p.m. Steven E. Davis, 56, Greencastle, was taken into custody on two local warrants and an out-of-county warrant.

• At 12:40 p.m. Randall L. McMullin, 57, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

• At 9:09 a.m. Arissa L. Canter, 20, Greencastle, was booked in for theft and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

Thursday

• At 9:40 p.m. Jordan B. Atkinson, 28, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 8:09 p.m. Friday, Terra N. Cooksey, 38, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail for resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, Cooksey was taken into custody at an East Washington Street residence.

• At 11:11 a.m. Aug. 7, Kevin Miller, 54, Clayton, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Taken into custody on the parking lot at the Walmart store, Miller was lodged in the jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Two recent summonses were issued by city officers:

• At 2:20 a.m. Friday, Sarah Neidlinger, 26, Greencastle, was given a summons into court by Officer Damon Ludwig.

Stopped in the parking lot of Greenwood Avenue Apartments, Neidlinger was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Wesley January, 32, Greencastle, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Helmer.

Stopped on Greenwood Avenue, January was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

One recent citation was issued by city officers:

• At 3:25 p.m. Aug. 8, Terry Knight Jr., 48, Coatesville, was ticketed by Officer DeWitt.

Stopped at Veterans Memorial Highway and Bloomington Street, Knight was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents since Thursday:

• At 12:29 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to a DePauw University-owned duplex at 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:30 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 12:33 p.m.

• At 12:34 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Bloomington and South streets. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:37 and assisted with patient care and cleaned up fluid and debris. GFD went back into service at 1:30 p.m.

• At 2:04 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to French House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived soon after and determined the alarm was due to cooking. DePauw Public Safety reset the alarm system. GFD went back into service at 2:10 p.m.

• At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to the intersection of County Road 25 South and South County Road 125 West for a tree in the roadway. Firefighters found a tree limb there at 11:39 and removed it. GFD went back into service at 11:43 a.m.

• At 1:12 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Vine and Walnut streets. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1:14 and assisted with patient care and cleaned up debris. GFD went back into service at 1:38 p.m.

• At 9:02 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:07 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:19 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 10 medical assists and had one disregard in this timeframe.
