Sara L. Hartman

Sara L. Hartman, age 82, of Putnamville, passed away Aug. 12, 2023.

She was born July 13, 1941, to the late Ralph and Edna (Ford) Milligan.

Sara married Allan F. “Stub” Hartman on May 1, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2001.

She was a member of the historic Putnamville United Methodist Church (now known as Putnamville Church of Faith), the UMW, the church choir and the DAR, and was a lifetime member of AQHA and involved in 4-H a significant portion of her life.

Sara is survived by her daughters, Catherine Ann (Darrell) Minor of Greencastle and Lisa Jo (Mike) Klotz of Cloverdale; son Christopher Allan (Julie) Hartman of Reelsville; sister Thelma Andrew of Terre Haute; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several extended family members; and her church family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Melvin Andrew.

Funeral services for Sara will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the service time of 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Putnamville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Sara’s name to the Putnamville Church of Faith.
