Lynda Dunbar

Lynda Dunbar

I am Lynda Dunbar, and I am the Republican mayoral candidate for the upcoming election.

I grew up here in Greencastle. I raised my kids here. I built my businesses and career here. I have loved Greencastle for more than five decades.

I attended Greencastle Community Schools and, after graduation, I attended the University of Indianapolis, where I graduated with a BS degree in accounting. After graduation I was an auditor for the Department of Defense and later in my career I worked for the Internal Revenue Service and owned and operated several businesses.

In November 2011, I was elected Greencastle clerk-treasurer and am finishing my third term. Over the past 11 years, I have grown to know the everyday workings of city government and have worked alongside a great team within City Hall.

I’ve also had the privilege of working shoulder to shoulder with other elected officials, local business owners and built connections with all kinds of people from all different walks of life.

I want to be your mayor because I know I have the executive experience and vision needed to be part of the solution. I know the ins and outs of our city government. As your clerk-treasurer for the last 11 years I have demonstrated my leadership ability.

I have a vision for the City of Greencastle. We are a great community and great communities do not accept the status quo. My administration will challenge our citizens, city employees, other public officials, DePauw and Ivy Tech, and our public school system to be the best place where people want to live, work, learn and play.
