Fifth-annual Breast Cancer Research Softball Tournament set Friday, Saturday

Now in its fifth year, a local softball tournament organized to raise money for breast cancer research has grown to the point that it is stretching into a second day.

The Breast Cancer Research Softball Tournament is set for Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 at Robe-Ann Park and Big Walnut Sports Park.

With 20 teams entered this year, the tournament has grown from a Saturday-only event to also encompass Friday night, as well as being played at two different parks.

The final on Saturday evening will be at Robe-Ann.

All donated money — which includes a $150 entry fee per team — will go directly to breast cancer research.

Fans are invited to come out and be a part of the event.
