GHS to present ‘The Music Man’ Thursday through Saturday

The Greencastle High School Theatre Department production of Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” will be on stage on Nov. 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.

Directed by Jennifer Perrin and Ross Hanson, the production is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first show at Parker Auditorium.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for high school and middle school and $3 for elementary students.

There will also be a silent auction with items from local businesses.

The show stars Clay Glessner as Professor Harold Hill and Hannah McLaughlin as Marian Paroo. Harold Hill, a traveling salesman, arrives at small-town River City, Iowa, where dancing, singing and hilarity ensue.

A cast of colorful characters is made up of community members and staff such as Joe Fields, Logan Khune, Geoff Price, John Tischer and Dan Hankee.

The cast is comprised of middle school students including Alex Gurnon, Jojo Glessner, Miles Jernagan, Ella Tischer, Josie Tischer, Joey Draper, Damona Rivers, Nevaeh Marquez, Braylon Shepherd, Julia Holmes, Amelia Silver, Nadia Wagner and Hailey Harmerson.

The remaining cast consists of high school students McLaughlin and Glessner, William Johnston, Hallie Rice, Emily Gray, Zach Martin, Kaylee Schwab, Charlie Martoglio, Jocelyn Gardner, Catherine Ryan-Shager, Grace Long, Trenton Bright, Zyier Canty, Liv Elkins, Audrey Cooper, Madysen Conley, Mariah Smallwood and Aiden Woods.

In addition to the cast, the crew involved includes stage managers Blaine Barger and Josie Cox, backstage manager Zoe Cope, actor manager Zachory Barron, director manager Reid Lawrence and lights by AJ Cooper. Sound directed by Zak Bartels, Charlie Menzel, Jake Miller and Ally Taylor, set designer/construction supervisor is Bob Hedge, student set director is Grace Long, costumes are by Emily Gray, Tobias Stampley and Caleb Edwards, makeup and hair designer is Liz Kavanaugh.

Finally, the stage crew includes Tobey Benedix, Val Guo, Mona Horvath, Delaney Moell and Nicky Lin.
