Lorene Imogene Cash

Lorene Imogene Cash, 99, Cloverdale, passed away on Nov. 3, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1924, in Reelsville and was the daughter of the late Glenn and Letha Fay (Custis) Phillips.

Lorene Imogene Phillips married Arthur C. Cash on Oct. 14, 1944, during Arthur’s leave home from the Army during World War II. Arthur passed on Feb. 2, 2010. Imogene never remarried.

Imogene was also predeceased by her son, Raymond Cash, and her brother, Leon Phillips, as well as many of her friends and family members.

Imogene is survived by her two sons, Alan B. Cash and wife Olivia of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kenneth C. Cash and wife Karen of Cloverdale; her four grandchildren, Lisa Foresman and husband Kevin of Dallas, Texas, Karla Cash Roberts and husband Reece of Midland, Texas, Kristen Hoehn and husband Jeff of Mount Vernon and Kenda Cash of Clayton. She had eight great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Gavin, McKenna, Ryah, Nora, Eva, Joslyn and Jonah. She is also survived by her niece, Ann Hall of Chicago, Ill.

Imogene graduated from Reelsville High School and was a dedicated farmer’s wife for 65 years in Cloverdale. She kept an immaculate house and was an excellent seamstress.

Imogene enjoyed flowers, vegetable gardening and canning and was a master in the kitchen. She was very active in the church and in the school PTO, and was tirelessly engaged in school activities supporting her sons in their high school programs. She made certain that both of her sons had the opportunity to attend college.

God-fearing, Imogene was a faithful Christian, living her life through the teachings of Jesus. She was quick-witted and always found the positive in every situation she confronted in life. She was a wonderful and dedicated matriarch who loved her family deeply and without condition.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Mike Mann officiating. Interment will follow immediately after in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
