2023-24 All-Western Indiana Conference Fall Teams

With the conclusion of the fall sports season, the Western Indiana Conference has released its list of All-WIC athletes.

Athletes named to the boys’ and girls’ soccer, boys’ tennis, volleyball and football teams are selected by the coaches of the WIC. Athletes in girls’ golf and boys’ and girls’ cross country are on the All-WIC team based on their performances at their respective WIC meets.

During the fall sports season, Putnam County teams won three conference titles as Greencastle won the Small School Football division and girls’ soccer titles while North Putnam won the boys’ soccer title; as a result, those teams received the maximum All-WIC slots for their respective sports.

Football

Lamar Moore, Greencastle — Led the Tiger Cubs with 1,292 yards rushing on 178 carries, tallying 20 scores on the ground, adding three conversions for 138 total points. Added 240 yards receiving on 17 receptions with two additional scores. Recorded 104 total tackles, 78 solo, leading the team in both categories. Had five tackles for loss and an interception.

Owen Huff, Greencastle — Led the Tiger cubs in receptions (61), receiving yards (984) and touchdowns (12) in the passing game. Had three carries for 20 yards and complete his sole pass of the season for 28 yards. On special teams, the senior had six kickoff returns for 158 yards and 14 punt returns for 232 yards. Added 55 tackles on defense, 43 solo, with an interception and a forced fumble.

Jackson Buis, Greencastle — Anchor on an offensive line that totaled more than 4,000 yards of total offense, including 2,776 yards through the air and 1,544 yards on the ground. Defensively recorded 66 tackles, 43 solo, with seven tackles for loss, two sacks and three forced fumbles.

Brendle Brennan, Greencastle — Second on the Tiger Cubs in receiving touchdowns (eight) on 15 receptions totaling 448 yards. Had 12 kickoff returns for 195 yards.

Ian Williamson, Greencastle — Second on the Tiger Cubs in receptions (33) and receiving yards (543) with seven touchdowns. Punted 15 times for 418 yards, averaging 27.9 yards per attempt; had 28 touchbacks on 59 kickoffs. Was 48-of-53 on extra points and 3-of-4 on field goals with a season long of 43 yards, scoring 101 total points.

Brayden Monroe, Greencastle — Finished with 20 receptions for 370 yards and three scores as a junior. Compiled 74 total tackles on defense, 55 solo, with a team-high 13 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks, three fumbles caused and recovered and an interception.

Cole Stephens, Greencastle — Threw for 2,675 yards on 154-of-229 passing for 34 touchdowns against 11 interceptions during his freshman campaign. Added 35 yards on 13 carries.

Aiden Beadles, South Putnam — At time of publication, Beadles leads the state of Indiana in tackling with 203 solo tackles and 126 solo tackles, 39 going for loss with 10 sacks and two fumble recoveries.

Wyatt Kendall, South Putnam — Averaged 49.7 yards per kickoff across 67 attempts. Was 65-of-66 on extra points and 4-of-8 on field goals, including a season long of 43 yards.

Wyatt Mullin, South Putnam — Junior quarterback threw for 2,247 on 117-of-191 passes with 27 touchdowns and four interceptions. Added 681 yards on the ground on 88 attempts with seven scores. Added 38 tackles, 29 solo, while co-leading the team with six interceptions, returning two for scores.

Keenan Mowery-Shields, South Putnam — Part of an offensive line that helped pave the way for more than 4,000 yards of total offense, including 2,429 yards passing and 1,862 yards rushing. Was second on the team with 109 tackles, 45 solo, as a freshman with 20.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and an interception returned for a touchdown.

Bransyn Hanley, South Putnam — Eagle freshman led the team in receiving yards (788) on 26 receptions, scoring 11 touchdowns. Had eight kickoff returns for 336 yards, returning two for scores.

Jayden Laffin, North Putnam — Part of an offensive line that cleared a path for more than 3,800 yards of total offense, including 1,920 yards rushing and 1,904 yards passing. The senior had two carries for three yards and one rushing touchdown. Was third on the Cougars with 73 tackles, 36 solo, with two sacks and two fumble recoveries.

Brogan Woodall, North Putnam — Led the Cougars in receiving yards (668) and receiving touchdowns (five) on 41 receptions. Added three carries for 41 yards on the ground. Added 35 tackles on defense, 26 solo.

Christian Kramer, North Putnam — Sophomore quarterback threw for 1,878 yards on 148-of-257 passing with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Added 1,018 yards on 187 carries and 18 touchdowns, all team highs. Had 17 tackles on defense and an interception.

Wes Murphy, North Putnam — Sophomore wing had 300 yards on 31 carries and two scores in the running game while adding 513 receiving yards on 54 receptions and three scores. Was second on the team in tackles with 79, 46 solo, while recovering two fumbles.

Tayt Jackson, Cloverdale — Junior took on several offensive roles, throwing for 398 yards on 30-of-104 passing with one touchdown against seven interceptions. Added a team-high 395 yards on the ground on 72 carries with six scores while catching eight passes for 159 yards and a score. Handled kickoffs and extra points, going 7-of-8 on the latter. Recorded 30 tackles, 28 solo, with a fumble recovered for a score.

Carson Caulkins, Cloverdale — Led the Clover defense with 72 tackles, 62 solo, while adding an interception during his junior season.

Volleyball

Ashleigh Riley, North Putnam — Led Cougars in kills (435) while adding 70 aces, 25 blocks, 228 digs, 383 receptions and 13 assists as a senior.

Lexi Daigle, North Putnam — Senior setter had 723 assists, 212 digs, 37 kills, 23 aces, 20 blocks and eight receptions.

Kylee Owens, Greencastle — Senior hitter compiled a team-high 172 kills, 68 blocks and 22 digs as part of a sectional-winning campaign.

Allie Landry, Greencastle — Sophomore setter had 598 assists, 214 digs, a team-high 114 aces, 112 kills, 22 receptions and 18 blocks for the sectional champion Tiger Cubs.

Danae Cline, South Putnam — Junior libero had team highs in digs (557) and receptions (563) while adding 44 assists, 22 aces and 14 kills for the Eagles.

Yasmin Sorter, Cloverdale — In 15 recorded matches, led the Clovers with 13 aces while adding 110 digs, 105 receptions and 28 kills.

Boys’ Soccer

Brady Barber, North Putnam — Senior defender helped keep four clean sheets while adding three goals and an assist for the conference champions.

Matt Farrington, North Putnam — Senior winger had five goals and added eight assists for the conference champions.

Nolan Hackleman, North Putnam — Senior forward led the team with 16 goals and 11 assists for the conference champions.

Evan Polley, North Putnam — Senior midfielder had five goals and three assists for the conference champions.

Jaylen Windmiller, North Putnam — Senior defender helped keep four clean sheets while adding three goals for the conference champions.

Henry Cox, Greencastle — Senior midfielder had two goals and three assists for the sectional champions.

Harris Weltz, Greencastle — Senior goalkeeper only allowed 10 goals in 19 matches, including 12 clean sheets, while adding three assists for the sectional champions.

Sam White, Greencastle — Senior defender helped claim 12 clean sheets while adding six assists for the sectional champions.

Micah Foss, Greencastle — Was the third-leading goal scorer in the state of Indiana as a sophomore with 39 goals while adding five assists for the sectional champions.

Girls’ Soccer

Bella Monnett, Greencastle — Helped keep nine clean sheets as a senior goal keeper for the conference and sectional champion Tiger Cubs.

Evie Briones, Greencastle — Helped lead an attacking line that scored 74 goals in 19 matches as a junior for the conference and sectional champions.

Aleeyah Johnson, Greencastle — Had four goals and 11 assists from the midfield in 13 recorded games for the conference and sectional champions as a senior.

Ali Dobbs, Greencastle — Helped lead an attacking line that scored 74 goals in 19 matches as a junior for the conference and sectional champions.

Kylie Silbert, Greencastle — Defender helped keep nine clean sheets for the conference and sectional champions.

Layla Hassar, North Putnam — Started every match as a senior in defense for the Cougars, who reached a sectional final and had one clean sheet on the year.

Kassidy Hackleman, North Putnam — Led the Cougars with 17 goals on the season as a sophomore.

Boys’ Cross Country

Landon Miller, Greencastle — Won the WIC Meet in a time of 15:47.62. Won the Terre Haute North Sectional, finished 11th at the Brownsburg Regional and earned All-State honors with a 14th-place finish at the IHSAA Boys’ Cross Country State Finals, breaking the Greencastle school record with a time of 15:29.3 as a sophomore.

Jeremiah Miles, North Putnam — Finished seventh overall at the WIC Meet in 16:56.16. Finished 14th at the Ben Davis Sectional and 53rd at the Brownsburg Regional as a junior.

Keaton Chew, South Putnam — Finished ninth overall at the WIC Meet in 17:06.59. Finished ninth at the Terre Haute North Sectional and 67th at the Brownsburg Regional as a senior.

Charlie Menzel, Greencastle — Finished 11th overall at the WIC Meet in 17:08.01. Won the Putnam County Meet, becoming a four-time champion, while finishing 15th at the Terre Haute North Sectional and 91st at the Brownsburg Regional as a senior.

Gabe Feltner, South Putnam — Finished 13th overall at the WIC Meet in 17:12.32. Finished 11th at the Terre Haute North Sectional and 87th at the Brownsburg Regional as a sophomore.

Girls’ Cross Country

Colleen Bossnack, Greencastle — Finished ninth overall at the WIC Meet in 20:37.70. Won the Putnam County Meet, finished third at the Terre Haute North Sectional and 45th overall at the Brownsburg Regional as a freshman.

Elise Kendall, South Putnam — Finished 14th overall at the WIC Meet in 21:21.19. Finished 11th overall at the Terre Haute North Sectional and 106th overall at the Brownsburg Regional as a sophomore.

Girls’ Golf

Emma Callahan, Greencastle — Finished as runner up at the WIC Girls’ Golf Match with a round of 96. Finished third at the Putnam County Golf Match on 49 and shot 104 at the Northview Sectional.

Alie Newby, South Putnam — Finished sixth overall at the WIC Girls’ Golf Match with a round of 99. Won the Putnam County Golf Match after a playoff with a round of 47. Shot 93 at the Northview Sectional to advance to the Washington Regional where the senior shot 106.

Mackenzie Lovett, South Putnam — Finished eight overall at the WIC Girls’ Golf Match with a round of 101. Finished fourth at the Putnam County Golf Match on 52 while shooting 106 at the Northview Sectional.

Kaitlynn Jacobs, North Putnam — Finished 14th overall at the WIC Girls’ Golf Match with a round of 107. Shot 57 at the Putnam County Golf Match and 109 at the Attica Sectional.

Celeste Terrell, Cloverdale — Finished 15th overall at the WIC Girls’ Golf Match with a round of 108. Shot 56 at the Putnam County Girls’ Golf Match and 116 at the Northview Sectional.

Boys’ Tennis

Jay Glotzbach, Greencastle — Finished 10-11 as a junior for the Tiger Cubs at No. 1 singles, forcing a third set in the sectional match against Mooresville to cap his junior season.

Luke Hutcheson, South Putnam — Played at No. 1 singles for the Eagles as a junior.

In addition to the All-WIC awards, the conference awarded 88 Putnam County athletes with Academic All-WIC honors.
