County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 4:42 p.m. Leandra J. Brock, 47, Reelsville, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery.

• At 11:49 a.m. Brian A. Ping, 38, Roachdale, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Saturday

• At 7:23 a.m. Dominiece L. Cooper, 22, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated per se, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

• At 5:10 a.m. Deegan D. Ray, 28, Quincy, was booked in for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of a syringe.

• At 12:30 a.m. Harman S. Pabla, 23, Avon, was lodged at the jail for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and possession of paraphernalia.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 10 incidents between Thursday and Monday:

• At 3:27 p.m. on Thursday, GFD witnessed a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Washington and Indiana streets. Firefighters arrived on the scene and notified police and cleaned up fluid. GFD went back into service at 3:33 p.m.

• At 11:46 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Heartland Automotive for a vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:51 and located the fire in the floorboard and quickly extinguished it. GFD went back into service at 12:17 p.m.

• At 4:26 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at NAPA Auto Parts. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 4:29 and assisted with patient care and checked the stability of a vehicle. GFD went back into service at 4:53 p.m.

• At 6:10 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded for a vehicle into a building at 2005 Lucky Ln. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:21 as the vehicle was already removed, while there was a large hole in a wall. The city building inspector and maintenance were contacted. GFD went back into service at 7:24 p.m.

• At 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded for cleanup of a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Indianapolis Road and Warren Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10:13 and cleaned up debris and fluid. GFD went back into service at 10:23 a.m.

• At 12:52 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:53 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1 p.m.

• At 4:21 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Kappa Kappa Gamma at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:22 and determined the alarm was due to hair spray. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:27 p.m.

• At 3 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Gore House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:03 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:05 p.m.

• At 4:16 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:20 and determined the alarm was due to a candle. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:24 p.m.

• At 7:36 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Dirks House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:39 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 7:40 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 10 medical assists and had four disregards in this timeframe.
