LETTER: Realtors appreciate support for final bingo event

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Putnam County Board of Realtors, I would like to thank the record number of community members that attended our 22nd and final bingo event on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Thank you to First National Bank for seeding the pot for the Bonanza game with $500. It went on to pay out $800 to one lucky winner.

Here are just a few of our stats: Players 311; Workers 16; Pull-tabs sold 9,063; Popcorn popped - bushels, and prizes given out - almost $8,500 from pull tabs, bingo and door prizes.

Money raised to go to scholarships – a new record. It will be announced Dec. 8 at our year-end event.

Thank you to this hardworking crew — we couldn’t have done it without you: Jeff Rich, Samantha Cooper, Chris and Michelle Skillern, Lezley Wass, Lindsey Fenwick, Lindsay Carter, Joe Lenihan, Amy and Tad Robinson, Emily Johnson, Becki Gross, Traci McKinney and our two Greencastle NHS volunteers for the night, Mitch Staggers and Gavin Pingleton.

We also had great helpers setting up Saturday morning: Jon Blue, Myrona Gilley, Laura Wheeler, Nicole Jernagan, Traci McKinney, Samantha Cooper and five Greencastle NHS volunteers, Evie Green, Bella Monnett, Samantha Overbay, Micala Cantonwine and Quinn Asbell.

Thank you to everyone that donated concessions and shared our post to help us get a record number of people there. I apologize if I missed anyone. It’s been a whirlwind few days.

Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you all for making our scholarships to Putnam County graduating seniors possible.
