County Jail

Five people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 5:16 a.m. Danielle N. Querry, 34, Reelsville, was taken into custody for domestic battery in the presence of a minor.

Saturday

• At 8:01 p.m. Rinze J. Stapert, 19, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated-refusal, illegal consumption of alcohol and resisting law enforcement.

Friday

• At 3:13 p.m. Cory A. Eiseman, 35, Cloverdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 7:57 p.m. Nathen D. Denton, 24, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

• At 4:16 p.m. Keven D. Crowe, 32, Coatesville, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Logan J. Pizzo, 33, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Lodged at the Putnam County Jail, Pizzo was taken into custody at an East Washington Street residence for burglary, residential entry and possession of a controlled substance.

• At 2:58 p.m. Thursday, Christian D. Dodson, 22, Plainfield, was arrested by Officer Alec Pettit.

Taken into custody at an East Franklin Street residence on a Hendricks County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of theft and false informing, Dodson was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

• At 2:20 a.m. Thursday, Damon Rivers, 48, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Facing charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, battery on law enforcement, resisting law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance, Rivers was lodged in the Putnam County Jail following his arrest at an East County Road 25 South residence.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to six incidents between Thursday and Monday:

• At 5:35 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to the Elks lodge for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:36 and determined the alarm was due to the furnace being turned on in the ballroom. The alarm was reset before their arrival. GFD went back into service at 5:38 p.m.

• At 8:31 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:41 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 8:49 p.m.

• At 4:09 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Warren Drive and Veterans Memorial Highway. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 4:17 and assessed patients and cleaned up debris. GFD went back into service at 4:42 p.m.

• At 7:02 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched for a smell of natural gas at Tractor Supply Co. Firefighters arrived at 7:06 and did not detect any gas. GFD went back into service at 7:17 p.m.

• At 7:18 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Autumn Glen Senior Living for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:24 and determined the alarm was due to steam from a dishwasher. The alarm was reset before their arrival. GFD went back into service at 7:45 a.m.

• At 9:38 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Pi Beta Phi at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:42 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:54 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 15 medical assists during this timeframe.
