Gary David Vickous

Gary David Vickous, 77, of Martinsville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at IU Bloomington.

Gary was born in Indianapolis on Nov. 20, 1946, the son of Olden and Marjorie (Spargur) Vickous.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mr. Vickous proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a feed salesman for Nutrina and was owner and operator of Greencastle Feed Service for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Patricia Vickous; two children, Melissa Nees (Jamie) of Fillmore and Jeffrey Vickous (Stacey) of Fillmore; three stepchildren, Brian Lynch (Kari) of Indianapolis, Dustin Crowe (KrisAnne) of Indianapolis and Desirea Crowe (Kyle Harman) of Martinsville; a sister, Susie McMains (Larry) of Greencastle; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Vickous.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
