Charles Glenn Steele

Charles Glenn Steele, 93, of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

Born March 25, 1930 in Huntington, he was the son of Earl Steele and Eva (Farthing) Steele Skinner.

Charles worked and retired from Allison Transmission in Indianapolis and also farmed for several years. He was a member of the New Life Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Kay (Ferrand) Steele and Helen (Long) Steele, stepbrother Harold Stoltz, granddaughter April Steele, great-grandchild Brandon Wiseman and brothers-in-law Kenneth and Keith Ferrand.

Charles is survived by his children, Charles G. (Debbie) Steele Jr., Susan (John) Garl and Shirley (Jason) McCullough; brothers Billy Steele and Dale (Betty Jo) Steele; sister Janett Massey; brothers-in-law Carl (Anita) Ferrand and David (Jan) Ferrand; sister-in-law Shirley Record; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
