Sunday Collision on U.S. 40

Two vehicles have heavy damage following a collision at the intersection of County Road 725 East and U.S. 40 Sunday evening. The SUV was traveling northbound across the intersection as the truck was westbound and unable to avoid it. While the passenger in the SUV was extricated and airlifted, the driver was transported by Putnam County EMS.

Ascension St. Vincent StatFlight launches from Wellspring Christian Church near the scene. Meanwhile, those in the truck were not hurt. While the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office worked the incident, Fillmore and Jefferson Township volunteer firefighters also responded. Jerry’s Wrecker Service retrieved both vehicles.
