County Jail

Fourteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Sunday

• At 10:44 p.m. Cameron M. Hulce, 23, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 10:13 p.m. James D. Cooper, 41, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 9:44 p.m. Jacob B. Payton, 20, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of a controlled substance.

• At 5:35 p.m. Nicole L. Kelley, 43, Terre Haute, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 4:09 p.m. James D. Smith, 31, Knightsville, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated and possession of paraphernalia.

Saturday

• At 9:16 p.m. Jeremy M. Sizemore, 48, Cloverdale, was booked in for domestic battery.

• At 3:28 a.m. Patrick W. Briski, 29, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

Friday

• At 7:39 p.m. Haylee M. Parrish, 25, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a pair of local warrants.

• At 6:18 p.m. Wayne A. Wyrick, 41, Greencastle, was taken into custody for cruelty to an animal.

• At 3:23 p.m. Lucas A. Monnett, 45, Coatesville, was housed a the jail for a local warrant.

• At 3:55 a.m. Brandon L. Tapp, 32, Martinsville, was lodged at the jail on writ of body attachment.

• At 12:42 a.m. Dustin M. Tippin, 48, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Thursday

• At 1:37 p.m. Andrea R. Cottrell-Spitler, 43, Clinton, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 10:36 a.m. Aaron J. Osher, 36, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

Four recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Ronald M. Williams, 22, Greencastle, and Ternae A. Hatch, 20, Greencastle, were arrested by Officer Jared McDaniel.

Taken into custody at a Bloomington Street residence, Williams and Hatch were lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of battery resulting in bodily injury.

• At 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Braiden Hinshaw, 22, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Justin Herd.

Taken into custody at a Roan Court apartment, Hinshaw was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for domestic battery.

• At 11:54 a.m. Friday, Lisa M. Grimes, 31, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Nick Eastham.

Booked into the jail on four counts of intimidation, Grimes was arrested at the Department of Child Services office.

Two recent summonses were issued by city officers:

• At 12:11 p.m. Feb. 6, Paul McCleary, 33, Terre Haute, was given a summons by Sgt. Eastham.

Stopped on Percy Julian Drive, McCleary was issued the summons for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

• At 3:20 a.m. Feb. 6, Haylee Parrish, 25, Greencastle, was issued a summon by Officer Herd.

Stopped on North Jackson Street, Parrish was given the summons for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

One recent citation was issued by city officers:

• At 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Melinda Fife, 29, Fillmore, was ticketed by Officer Damon Ludwig.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Fife was cited for a learner’s permit violation.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to eight incidents between Thursday and Monday:

• At 11:23 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Chiyoda USA for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:31 and determined a compressor line ruptured and caused steam. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 11:49 p.m.

• At 2:38 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Gore House at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:41 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 2:47 a.m.

• At 7:49 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to East College at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:51 and determined the sprinkler system malfunctioned. They could not reset the alarm, so the issue was turned over to maintenance. GFD went back into service at 8:30 a.m.

• At 2:26 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Humbert Hall at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:28 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 2:38 p.m.

• At 9:03 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to Kappa Alpha Theta at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:05 p.m. and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:11 p.m.

• At 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Delta Theta at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:10 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 4:15 a.m.

• At 3:39 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Kissinger House at DePauw for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:43 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 3:46 p.m.

• At 9:39 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to the apartments at 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:44 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 9:53 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded for 11 medical assists and had one disregard during this timeframe.
