Sandra Lynn Shrewsbury

Sandra Lynn Shrewsbury, 74, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at her residence.

She was born May 7, 1949 in Brazil, the daughter of Otis G. and Mildred Pauline (Brush) Witty.

She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in the class of 1967.

Sandra was homemaker and babysat for military families. She served as president of the PTA in Virginia Beach, Va., and Navy ombudsman in Iceland. She worked at the Navy Exchange, as a receptionist and payroll clerk at the Reception Diagnostic Center and as secretary and receptionist for the Hartsock Law Firm in Guam. She also worked with the CASA program in Putnam County.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother- and sister-in-law Tom and Nancy Witty.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Carlos Shrewsbury; sons Christopher (wife Charlene) Shrewsbury, Mark (wife Kathy) Shrewsbury and William (wife Bambi) Shrewsbury; sister Donna (husband Jim) Lasley; brother Ron (wife Julie) Witty; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sandra to the American Cancer Society.
