Sara A. Cox, 78, of Fillmore, went to meet the Lord on Jan. 29, 2024, having lost her 23-year battle with cancer.

Born in Marietta, Ga., she was the daughter of Rev. Norris and Ruth (Hill) King and graduated from Amo High School in the class of 1963.

She married Daniel Cox in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 2021.

Sara was employed by Mallory for 34-and-a-half years, retiring in 2003. After retiring, she and Dan spent their winters in Florida.

She was a member of the Fillmore Methodist Church and Friendly Squares for many years.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband and brother-in-law David Cox.

Sara is survived by her son, Randy (wife Juleena) Cox of Fillmore; daughter Candace (husband Sam) Williams of Bloomington; mother Ruth King; grandchildren Tyler (wife Tiffany) Cox, Tiffani O’Hair, Tessa Cox (fiance Shawn Sullivan), Brandon (wife Jamie) Buis and Devin (wife Kat) Kidwell; seven great-grandchildren; brother Dr. Leonard (wife Marjorie) King; brother-in-law Jerry (wife Pat) Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will follow at the Stilesville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sara to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
