Wendy Blythe Gifford

Wendy Blythe Gifford, of Chicago, Ill., died of cancer on Feb. 22, 2024 at the age of 74.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1949 in Louisville, Ky., to parents Marian and Samuel Gifford, who predeceased her.

Wendy graduated from Greencastle High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business.

She was an expert in the field of codes, standards, regulations and industry and legislative affairs, especially for safety products. Under her pen name of Blythe Gifford, she wrote 13 historical romance novels.

She is survived by sisters Amy Hume and Holly Knott.
