Michael Ray Rasner

Michael Ray Rasner, age 71, of Freedom, passed peacefully at home with his sons and daughter-in-law on Feb. 27, 2024.

Born on May 27, 1952, Mike was a retired ironworker and his journey touched the lives of many in countless ways.

Mike was every woman’s dream of a handyman; he could fix anything. He loved the woods and hunting morels. He enjoyed the casinos and all forms of poker.

Mike lived a life that made a difference in others. He was a good father to his boys and even opened his door to their friends who were in need of refuge. He loved his grandchildren, who all adored him greatly, and he was a good listener and fishing buddy to them. All animals loved him, for he was a very caring man. Mike was an incredible friend and will be greatly missed by many.

Mike is survived by sons Tyler (Kim) Rasner and Levi (Chasity) Rasner; daughter Lisa Balliet; nine grandchildren, Dillon, Noah, Madalen, Katherine, Angel, Liam, Jacen, Leola and Leviticus; two sisters, Elaine (Bob) White and Karen (Jim) Workman; and his beloved dog, Mufasa, aka Pasta.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Donald and Leola Rasner; his wife, Michelle Rasner; and two sisters, Trish Winders and Toni Churchill.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
