JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its 2023-2024 Men’s Basketball All-League honors on Wednesday, following No. 1 Grace’s sweep of the regular season and tournament championships.

The Knights earned five honors in the 2023-24 season, with Gus Etchison leading the charge as a member of the All-Crossroads League First Team. Brody Whitaker was named to the Second Team along with Maximus Gizzi, with Gizzi also earning All-CL Defense Team honors. Ben Henderson rounded out the honors earning All-Freshman Team honors.

The Lancers took home nearly every major honor from the Crossroads League as well, with Scott Moore being named the CL Coach of the Year, Elijah Malone being voted the CL Player of the Year and Jakob Gibbs being selected the CL Defensive Player of the Year. Grace also grabbed three First-Team All-CL nods and hauled in a total of 10 postseason honors from the Crossroads League.

The CL’s other top honor went to Indiana Wesleyan’s Caedmon Bontrager, as the CL Freshman of the Year. The All-Crossroads League honors were voted on by the head men’s basketball coaches from around the league.

Brody Whitaker put together an equally strong season, battling to earn All-CL Second Team in his first season as a full-time starter. Whitaker has averaged career-bests this season, scoring 19.1 points per game while averaging 5.4 rebounds per game. Whitaker was Marian’s third-leader in rebounds and second in steals, and shot the ball at a 50 percent rate from the field. Whitaker began the season with consecutive 30-point games, and recorded one double-double this season.
