Marcia Faye Carter

Marcia Faye Carter, 72, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 while at Mill Pond Health Campus.

Marcia was born on April 3, 1951 in Greencastle, the daughter of William Arthur and Opal Marie (Hill) Burk.

She was a 1969 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Marcia was a homemaker most of her life. Previously, she worked at Fashion Bug (FB Distro).

She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and watch soap operas, especially Turkish and Japanese soaps. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Burk and Opal Eglen, and a brother, James J. “Jeff” Denny.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 30 years, Rick E. Carter; children David (Candi) Alexander, Christopher Alexander, Amber (Steve) Hamilton and Rikki (Ed) Caudill; grandchildren Kendra, Harley, Maddie, Hunter, Lexi, Kaleigh, Lily, Aubrey, Emma and Ollie; great-grandchildren Sophia, Kyson, Christian, Ali, Berkleigh and Raylynn; brothers Ronald E. Denny, Steve (Debbie) Burk, William M. “Mike” (Judy) Burk and Larry A. Burk; sister Sandra E. (John) Silcox; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson–Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, IN 47834, on Friday, March 22 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
