Donna Faye Freeman, 64, of Plainfield, previously a resident of Putnam County, passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, following a brief but fierce battle with stage-four metastatic lung cancer.

She was born on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1960 in Indianapolis, the youngest of four to Robert and Juanita (McKinney) Reid.

At the time of her passing, Donna was passionately dedicated to her career as a flight crew scheduler with Republic Airways.

Donna is survived by her four children, daughters Heather (Joe DeSalvo) Haynes, Tiffany FitzPatrick and Natalie (Bryant) Craig and her son, Jeffery (Kenzie) Freeman Jr.; as well as her sister, Debbie (Fred) Golgart; 11 cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Raylee, Izzie, Kennley, Jack, Emma, Eva, Adam, Payton, Brantley and Mason; and her faithful canine companion, Harley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Reid; and her sister, Barbara Ann Reid.

Donna, despite adversities in her life, was always striving to improve her life and the lives of those around her. At the time of her passing, she had proudly achieved more than three-and-a-half years of sobriety, had taken herself to London and Paris for her 63rd birthday only a year prior and was most audibly proud of her children and her grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Donna’s life on Saturday, April 27 at Baymont by Wyndham, Plainfield, from noon-4 p.m.

Her favorite flowers were lilacs, however, the family asks to please consider a donation to her memorial available at her celebration of life or to your local women’s and children’s shelter, domestic violence support program or humane society.

Per Donna’s last wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest in Key West, Fla., one of her favorite places in this wide world.

Consistently pursue your dreams, despite adversity. Donna did.
