Todd Zeiner

The following is part of a series of biographies of county candidates for the upcoming election.

Candidates were asked to submit a biography of no more than 500 words describing themselves and their qualifications for office. Only candidates who submitted biographies are featured. Editing by the Banner Graphic news staff is minimal for only style and clarity purposes.

Currently serving as Putnam County coroner since December 2023, Todd Zeiner is seeking the opportunity to faithfully serve Putnam County as your duly elected coroner beginning in 2025.

He earned his State Medicolegal Death Investigator certification in 2015.

Zeiner has worked with past officials as a deputy coroner and assisted many Putnam County families at the most difficult times in their lives through the loss of a loved one.

The job of the coroner is to determine cause and manner of death through a dual investigation with law enforcement, for any death that is unattended, unnatural, accident, homicide or suicide.

The coroner’s mission is to speak for the deceased and assist the surviving families through an impossible time.

Zeiner and his family reside in Marion Township on their family farm. He also serves the community through the volunteer fire departments in Fillmore and Floyd Township.

Zeiner’s past community service includes five years of service in the Putnam County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) from 2013-17.

He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1984 and attended Vincennes University, 1984-86. He was also a 10-year 4-H member.
