My name is Brad Buchanan, and I am running for Putnam County Commissioner District 1.

You will see my name on the ballot as Brad Buck Buchanan. Buck has been a nickname for Buchanan for many years. And with the business we have, Buck Motorsports, a lot of people recognize me from that.

I have been a resident of Putnam County since 1989. Prior to that I lived in Plainfield, where I was born and raised. I love Putnam County and raised my family here.

In 2013, I married the love of my life, Lisa. She was from the west side of Indianapolis, and I brought her to Putnam County, and she absolutely loves it here. I raised my two children, Kristina and Bradley, as a single father here in Putnam County, and I feel between having such a great county. And with my guidance each one of them has become very successful in their own right.

My daughter is a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves and a combat medic. She is also a graduate from ISU in chemistry and it is seeking her doctorate. She currently is employed by Lifeline as a flight trauma paramedic and resides right here in Putnam County with her husband Dan, who I was glad to welcome into our family as he also is an Army Reserve and has been deployed recently. But he is back working on his nursing degree. He was born and raised in Connecticut.

Which brings me to my son Bradley. I am now a proud U.S. Navy dad. After extensive training, he is stationed on a supercarrier and is a United States naval nuclear power operator and is making sure that his warship is running to where it needs to be.

Just a brief summary of myself: I currently am a master tech and a mechanical engineer and run the business here, Buck Motorsports, along with my wife.

I also served on the Putnam County Council, duly elected in 1994. I served honorably and accomplished great tasks while I was in office. The reason I’m running at this time is I see a lot of things going on nationally and locally, and I feel that Putnam County is not getting its fair share of what it deserves. I believe I can bring a lot to this position and make Putnam County a better place to raise your family.

I bring with me a wealth of knowledge and a strong understanding of local and national politics.

I’m running on the slogan Putnam County First. If elected to this position, that’s what it will be.

I ask you for your vote. I will not disappoint you.
