Donald Wayne “Ragweed” Ratcliff, 88, of Bainbridge, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024.

He was born Aug. 1, 1935 in Morton, the son of Virgil Cline and Ivyl Oreta (Keyt) Ratcliff.

He was a graduate of 1953 Bainbridge High School.

Don retired from General Motors in Indianapolis, where he worked as a pipefitter. He previously worked for Coca-Cola as a truck driver and in masonry.

He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Greencastle American Legion, the Eagles Lodge and the Elks Lodge of Hendricks County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bonny (Hill) Ratcliff; and sisters Betty (Roland) Ruark and Lucille (Don) Gilstrap.

Don is survived by his children, Randy Ratcliff, Terry (Mike) Clifford and Debby (Jake) Zaring; grandchildren Darcy (Aaron) Boyce, Ashley (Ryan) Truebenbach, Tabitha (Brian) Bandy, Aaron (Jen) Smith, Jordan (David) Kean and Izaak (Jill) Zaring; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Leah, Gatlon, Bellamy, Jenna, Max, Audra, Breck, Kelin, DeLaney, Daelin, Taebrin, Kyra, Haiden and pending twins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Union Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Don.
