Ensley sworn in as deputy prosecutor
GREENCASTLE -- A vacancy in the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office has been filled.
On Friday, Putnam County Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter swore in Jim Ensley as a deputy prosecutor. Ensley fills a spot created last fall when Chief Deputy Prosecutor Donald VanDerMoere left the Putnam County office to take the prosecutor's post in Owen County and Deputy Prosecutor Justin Long became Putnam County's chief deputy prosecutor.
"I really appreciate Tim giving me this opportunity," Ensley said. "I look forward to doing my best to serve the people of Putnam County."
Ensley, 34, is a graduate of Greencastle High School. He has been in practice in Greencastle for the last three-and-a-half years, and has acted as a public defender for the Putnam County Courts for most of that time.
"Over the past few years, Jim has impressed everyone in the office with his hard work and ability as a public defender," Bookwalter said. "I believe he will be an excellent addition to the office and will make a fine prosecutor."
Ensley and his wife Cathryn have two children, Boyd and Elyse.
