Emergency Food Pantry finds a new home
GREENCASTLE -- Beginning April 1, the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry has been operating at their new location at 620 Tennessee Street. They celebrated the opening of the new location with a ribbon cutting on May 5.
The food pantry was located in the Putnam County Senior Center on the downtown square for many years, but board members determined the organization needed more space and easier parking for both volunteers and participants.
They packed up and moved to 620 Tennessee and are open for business. Hours for the food pantry remain the same as before. They are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and are closed on holidays or when there is inclement weather and when the Greencastle schools are closed.
Food contributions may be made when the pantry is open. If this is not a convenient time to drop off items, call Judy Miller at 653-1356, Frances Washburne at 721-2012 or the pantry at 301-4431 to make arrangements.
Monetary contributions can be dropped at the pantry in the mornings or mailed to P.O. Box 423, Greencastle.
