Bill Bays

William Allen Bays, 76, of Ladoga passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010.

Bill was born in Marshall, Ill. on July 16, 1933 to Allen and Dora Bays. He attended Indiana State Teacher's College for two years and then was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served a part of his tour in South Korea during the Korean War. Once discharged, he returned to Indiana State and received his teaching certificate.

He taught and coached his entire career in the Crawfordsville area, including Perrysville, Ladoga and North Putnam High Schools. Even though he enjoyed teaching and coaching, his true love was golf, as his close friends knew.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Blockey and Margaret McKlem and a brother Jim, all of whom live in the Phoenix, Ariz. area.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with a service of remembrance at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow the services.
