St. Andrews to host feasts and fasts

GREENCASTLE -- The people of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 520 East Seminary St., invite members of the community to join them for their feasts and fasts this week.

Tuesday is the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. in Hamilton Hall on the west side of the building. Proceeds from freewill donations will be given to the A-Way Home Shelter.

Mardi Gras revelers can move to the nave of the church at 6 p.m. to hear the sounds of "Jazz in the Church," featuring trumpeter Kevin Celebi and Friends. Admission is free.

On Ash Wednesday, St. Andrew's marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Services of Holy Eucharist with the opportunity for meditative prayer and the imposition of ashes will be offered at 7 a.m., noon and 7 p.m. in the church. All are welcome.
