Frisbie facing more legal troubles
A former Putnam County sheriff is back in legal trouble.
Mark T. Frisbie, 40, was arrested April 8 in Plainfield and charged with public intoxication and criminal mischief following an incident at his parents' Plainfield home.
Frisbie admitted to police that he threw a flowerpot through a window of his parents' house in order to gain entry. Plainfield officer Jason Calloway had earlier responded to the home when Frisbie had been arguing with his parents.
At the time of the first response, William and Peggy Frisbie advised the officer they did not want Mark, who had been residing with them, in their house anymore.
Frisbie told the officer at the time that a friend was coming to get him from the north side of Indianapolis.
Upon learning of the incident, Putnam County Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter filed a petition to revoke Frisbie's probation. He was placed on probation on May 25, 2010 following a guilty plea to driving while intoxicated and public intoxication.
At the time, the Putnam Superior Court sentenced Frisbie to one year of probation with three 48-hour periods in jail.
In the petition, Bookwalter contends Frisbie violated the terms of his probation by committing the two new offenses.
In November 2008, Frisbie was convicted in U.S. District Court of federal program theft. During his time as Putnam County sheriff, Frisbie embezzled more than $11,000 from the department, and was sentenced to two-and-a-half months in a federal penitentiary. He served that sentence in Atlanta and then spent four months of home detention before beginning a two-year term of federal probation.
Frisbie's previous alcohol charges violated his federal probation. On Jan. 22, 2010, he was sentenced to six months with Volunteers of America for that probation violation charge.
