Bainbridge Alumni to reunite June 30
Mike Blue, a member of the 1959 undefeated regular season and regional champion Bainbridge basketball team, will be the featured speaker at the 93rd annual Bainbridge High School Alumni Association banquet on Saturday, June 30 in the Bainbridge Community Building.
The social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with the buffet dinner following at 6:30 p.m.
Blue, who now resides in Winter Park, Fla., followed his graduation from Bainbridge in 1959 by earning both bachelor's and master's degrees from Butler University where he was a member of their basketball team. He served as a teacher and coach at Ben Davis Junior High School in Indianapolis for 35 years and retired to Florida in 1998 where he continues coaching girls' basketball teams. He earned the coveted Eagle Scout award during high school and continues to enjoy hobbies related to his scouting experience such as scuba diving, hiking and snow skiing. Blue is married and has two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
Classes to be honored this year at the Banquet include: 1947 (60 years since graduation), 1957 (50 years since graduation) and 1967 (40 years since graduation). Class speakers scheduled to make responses are Harve Wilson of Martinsville and Carolyn Roth Hiser of Danville.
